Prince Harry told about Queen’s death five minutes before public announcement

King Charles struggled to contact his youngest son.

Prince Harry was told about Queen Elizabeth’s death just five minutes before the news was made public.

The heartbroken Duke of Sussex rushed to Balmoral to be with his grandmother in her final moments, but sadly he didn’t make it on time.

The dad-of-two was in London for a charity event when the Queen’s health deteriorated.

The 96-year-old was with her daughter Princess Anne and son King Charles when she passed away.

King Charles reportedly called Prince Harry when he was on a plane to Scotland.

A source told The Telegraph, “The King was adamant that the official statement must not be released until all members of the family had been informed.

‘That was a father talking because he cares,” the source added.

Members of the family were informed that the Queen was extremely sick the night before she died.

It is believed King Charles called both of his sons and urged them to travel to Scotland immediately.

Following the death of his beloved grandmother, Prince Harry penned an emotional tribute to the monarch.

He thanked her for her years of service, as well as her constant support throughout his life.

The dad said he will never forget the moments she spend with his children, Archie and Lilibet.

“Thank you for your commitment to service. Thank you for your sound advice.

He added, “Thank you for your infectious smile.”

“We, too, smile knowing that you and grandpa are reunited now, and both together in peace.”
