Transport Fares Goes Up Again By 15%

Global Drivers and Road Transport Union (IDRTU) of the Ghana Trades Union Congress (TUC) says its prior declared 15% expansion in their passages produces results from Monday, June 27.

The Union, thusly, asked all travelers to go along “and assist us with supporting our work”.

It likewise reprimanded its individuals to follow the choice all together not to make “undesirable” to and fro with travelers.

The choice to increment passages was taken because of increasing costs in fuel.

In the mean time, the greatest driver association, GPRTU, is likewise thinking about expanding tolls by a similar rate.

Advertising Officer (PRO) of the Ghana Private Roads Transport Union (GPRTU) Alhaji Abass Imoro, said on TV3’s Keypoints on Saturday, June 25 that they are holding back to agree with the Ministry of Transport prior to declaring any addition.

“We are taking a gander at expanding the vehicle passages by 15%,” Alhaji Imoro told protest have Alfred Ocansey.

“We are looking out for the vehicle service so we arrive at an agreement.”
