GBC’s Winifred Afum wins two Awards at maiden GESA Awards

GBC’s Winifred Afum has picked up the Most Influential Media Personality (Show Host- English) and the Most Influential Radio/TV/ Online Programme ( English ) on Environmental and Sanitation Promotion at the maiden Ghana Environmental and Sanitation Awards, GESA in Accra.

The Most Influential Program was GBC’s program on Sanitation, WASH HOUR, which is hosted by Winifred Afum.

For the past two years, WASH HOUR has placed the spotlight on the salient issues confronting Ghana’s Sanitation Sector. The show provides the platform for stakeholders in the sector to share their perspectives on Ghana’s agenda to achieve SDG Six: Clean water and Sanitation for all.

Winifred Afum, the host and the WASH HOUR team has been passionate about WASH, bringing to the fore pertinent issues and advocating for behavioral change, an important factor in the clean Ghana Agenda.

WASH HOUR is produced by Ivan Amponsah.

The theme for the awards was: “Celebrating distinguished Service to Ghana’s Environmental and Sanitation Narrative – Over the Last Decade.”
