Following her 13-year banishment from the Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG), Yvonne Nelson recalls how almost all of her friends deserted her.
In an interview with Joy FM, she admitted that the only person who supported her during those tough times was Majid Michel.
Yvonne asserts that she decided to start filming her own movies after being banned. Her colleagues performers cautioned her against it since it might make it difficult for other producers to cast her in movies.

“I just wanted to do something on my own, but I recall talking to a few of my coworkers—who were also close friends of mine at the time—and they all told me it wasn’t a good idea. Don’t do it because no producer will want you to be in their movies if you become a producer, she said.
“And they all abandoned me during the ban. Majid was by himself. I would be followed by Majid, and we would go here.
Go out and make a little donation. Therefore, Majid was all that was around at the time, and Yvonne and I weren’t even that close.
The Ghanaian Film Producers Association (FIPAG) issued a one-year ban on the actress and producer in 2010.
In 2010, Yvonne Nelson received a one-year suspension after it was claimed that she had repeatedly disrespected other actresses, producers, and crew members.
The award-winning actress, who is also a producer, will have the Accra, Ghana, premiere of her newest film, “Kotoka,” on February 14, 2023.
