The Meteorological Agency advises Harmattan to increase from today

The Ghana Meteorological Agency has said that the Harmattan is forecast to increase over the nation as of Wednesday, 20 January 2020.

The Harmattan will continue into the weekend, according to the meteorological department.

A statement released by the Agency on Tuesday, 19 January 2020 stated: “Dust from the source region (around Chad) has been raised and is expected to be transferred to the country to deteriorate the visibility of the surface.”

Also, “The northern half is supposed to be drier with relative humidity of less than 20 percent and below 50 percent over parts of the southern sector due to the influx of dry and dusty continental winds.”

“This disruption of dryness increases the chances of fire outbreaks,” the statement confirmed.

“Therefore, the Meteorological Agency has urged the general public to “be mindful about handling naked fires” and “be careful because of low visibility on the highways.
