SEC alerts public investment in Chy Century Heng Yue Yue Yue

The General Public has been advised by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) against doing business with CHY Century Heng Yue Group Limited/Sairui e-commerce Ghana Limited.

The SEC claimed that, as required by Section 3 of the Securities Industry Act, 2016, the company was not allowed to carry out any capital market operation, including investing or trading for returns (Act 929).

“A statement issued by the regulator dated 8 January 20212 stated that “CHY CENTURY HENG YUE GROUP LIMITED/SAIRUI E-COMMERCE GHANA LIMITED is therefore not protected by the SEC. It is recommended that the general public be wary about buying in unlicensed commodities. In order to confirm the licensing status of any business selling goods or services relating to investments in the stock market, the general and investing public is further advised to consult the SEC through its toll-free line number 0800100065 or mainline number 0302768970-2.

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is the statutory body for which the Securities Industry Act 2016 (Act 929) provides for the promotion of orderly growth and creation of an effective, fair and transparent securities market in which investors and market integrity are covered.

One of the SEC’s key duties is to maintain regulation of securities industry operations and to protect investors by releasing information to the public at regular intervals to inform the public of their investment decisions.

CHY CENTURY HENG YUE GROUP LIMITED/SAIRUI E-COMMERCE GHANA LIMITED is hereby notified that CHY CENTURY HENG YUE GROUP LIMITED/SAIRUI E-COMMERCE GHANA LIMITED was not approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to carry out any transaction in the stock market, including investing or trading for returns, as required by Section 3 of the Securities Industry Act 2016 (Act 929).

Consequently, CHY CENTURY HENG YUE GROUP LIMITED/SAIRUI E-COMMERCE GHANA LIMITED is not governed under the SEC. It is recommended that the general public be wary about investing in unlicensed goods.
