Akufo-Addo and Bawumia hold the very worst handling of the economy in Ghana in 40 years – Ofosu Kwakye

Felix Ofosu Kwakye, former Deputy Minister of Information under the John Dramani Mahama government, said that the administration of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia had provided the worst economic results in the last forty years.

Moody’s said that the debt rate of Ghana under the current administration are worrisome. They projected that the economy of that country would come under pressure from rising debt.

The Gross Domestic Product of the country is predicted to reach 80 percent, according to Moody’s, which is highly worrying.

But Felix Ofosu Kwakye, who was a minister under the administration of John Dramani Mahama, responded to this by noting that the new administration is hollow and has taken the worst economic decisions in the history of Ghana.

To him, the administration of Nana Addo Dankwa, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, had brought Ghana beyond HIPC. He said the nation is swallowing debt because
of bad economic choices made by the present government.

The government of Akufo-Addo /Bawumia has delivered the worst economic results in 40 years. Our debt to GDP ratio was below 56 percent when they took over, now it’s reaching a whopping 80 percent, which is far beyond HIPC levels, he said.
